Umeeta Sadarangani
Umeeta Sadarangani creates two-dimensional works in acrylic, watercolor, and mixed media. Umeeta is drawn to intense, vibrant color, which is intrinsic to Indian culture, in which she was raised, and she enjoys media that allow the artist’s marks to be evident, marks that remind us of one-of-a-kind, human creations. Umeeta retired in 2022 after a rewarding, twenty-five-year career as a Professor of English at Parkland College and is excited to have more time for her creative work. In addition to being an artist, Umeeta is a writer and a knitter. She loves the process of making things. Umeeta lives in Champaign with her wife, Marilyn, and finds artistic inspiration in the trips they take together.
