I live, work, and foster community in Urbana, IL. I also grew up here, so my roots are pretty strong in this prairie town.
My current body of work explores two diverse directions. With textiles I favor techniques that celebrate the hand. Prints are made from hand-carved stamps and custom-mixed colors, printed on sustainability-sourced fabric. I use milled fibers like hemp, linen, and organic cottons.
My work on paper captures a more personal representation of making. I work with a diverse range of materials: ink, collage, thread, and rich, saturated color. Inspiration and content come from my daily rhythm, surroundings, and recordings of lived experiences.
