Jeannie Vansickle

Jeannie Vansickle is a mixed media artist from Champaign, IL.

A transplant from New England, she has lived in Illinois since 1967. Jeannie’s passion as an artist was ignited by the sudden death of her husband when she began creating memory pieces.  Her artist became her therapist.   She also published a book, The Long Ride Home, a memoir based on excerpts from her journals.

Jeannie’s art work is often whimsical and sometimes satirical or inspirational.   Her works are made up of paint, paper, old photos, fabric and other ephemera.   “I love spending time in my studio surrounded by my art supplies, ideas dancing in my head and Pandora playing in the background.” Her work has been inspired by local artists, Lisa Kesler and Bonnie Switzer, as well as, nationally known artist, Kelly Rae Roberts.

Jeannie also offers workshops “Unleash Your Artist” in her home studio.
