Biography 

Hi! My name is Karissa Marshall. This is my first year doing Boneyard Art’s Festival.

I’ve been taking pictures since I was a kid with my own Polaroid camera and knew that’s what I wanted to go to school for. The type of photography I do is mostly nature photography. I also do portraiture, products and theme/stories, and darkroom photography. I’ve been working with film for 3 years thanks to Parkland College’s darkroom class!

Artist statement

My work is people in animal masks exploring the woods. I wanted to make it feel like you’re in a different reality, a different world you opened a door to. I did something like this in my advanced digital photography class in 2016 and it was fun, and I loved the results. I chose to frame my work with sticks I found to give it more life as if you were there.
