Jo Birdwell
Jo Birdwell is a mulit-media artist who lives and works in Urbana, Illinois. Art installation, multi-media, Sculpture, Printmaking, Drawing and Painting are areas of her continued research. Jo exhibits nationally and internationally, and her Professorial work is in both two-dimensional and three-dimensional studies. She teaches at Lake Land College Fine and Applied Arts, in Illinois.
My work this year is large and small scale drawing and mixed media sculpture. I am responding to my day to day intake of experiences from the natural and mechanical world. I am also feeling out material and really enjoy the act of working through surfaces in both drawing media and object media. The actual material is what is transcribing my way through making ideas into images.
