Clara de la Fuente Artist

Clara de la Fuente

Clara de la Fuente grew up in Spain, but she started her artistic career in 2017 in Champaign-Urbana, where she established herself in the local art community. She creates vivid Expressionist landscapes in acrylic, watercolor and gouache.

Clara combines her travel inspiration with color theory to catch the emotion of every location. The composition evokes a sense of calm happiness, the joy of adventure and the feeling of surrounding one-self in nature to heal. Colorful landscapes with sunsets, sunrises, and stormy skies are common subjects in her work as a reminder that every day is a new beginning, and there is always calm after every storm.

Her work has been displayed in over 15 art exhibitions, including Boneyard Arts Festival in 2019, 2021 2022, 2023, and “The 1868 Collection” at Busey Bank in 2020, 2021, 2022 and 2023. She was invited to “paint a poem” as part of the Red Herring Poetry Club Celebration in 2021 and interviewed for their art documentary. Her work is being featured in The News Gazette, Smile Politely, the Daily Illini, Atlanta Shoutout, and the Activator Magazine.
